Kisses and Cupcakes

Twenty- one.
love.

My day started at 4:45. I was up and out of the hostel.
The girls were getting a later flight and at that time I envied them. I walked to the Queensbourgh Station and I have to say I am not used to Stations closing. In NYC they are open 24/7. So i panicked because I did not know where to go and I knew that I couldn't miss the bus. But two people helped me and gave me directions. I took the bus to the National Express Bus Station. I asked many people directions, but I eventually made it to the bus stop. The bus went directly to the Airport.
I purchased myself a great egg breakfast and a nice warm cup of Chai and off to Limerick I headed. I got to the bus stop right outside the airport and saw two Erasmus students from Limerick Chloƫ and Simon. She is from France and he is from Sweden. They are such lovely people. We took both buses together and when I got back to my room I went to bed.

My roommates are amazing people. Words cannot describe my love for each one of them.
I went for a walk with Philip and Conor because it was beautiful out! It was one of the most amazing days. Those boys make me laugh like no other.

I learned that there is a such thing as 'pigeon racing'.

At night Conor, Cathal, and Aoife and I went to the grocery. When we got back Philip was dressed up and told us to hurry because we were going to the Stables. I ran to put on a dress and I got so excited. I went out to look for Aoife and when I opened the kitchen door our kitchen was full with 20 people. Oh my goodness... I was so suprised.
The table was full with cupcakes and Philip was making food.
Caoimhe and Aoife came into the room with their hands behind their back.
As I opened the gift all I wanted to do was cry. I could not believe they got me something and also a party.
They gave me a Pandora bracelet and also a charm that said '21'.

I was too excited for words.
My mom skyped me at night and they came into my room with 3 cakes and they all sang Happy Birthday.

It was a wonderful Birthday filled with amazing people. I love each one of them to pieces.

London Ladies II

Part II

The next morning we woke up early, had breakfast with our Italian friend and then waited for a tour that we missed so we made our own. Everything happens for a reason and I think we had so much more fun inventing our own route around the city.
The man at reception that helped us the night before, helped us in the morning as well. He gave us a map of where to go and sent us on our way.

We all paid about 7 pounds for a day pass that would take us around London in bus and also on the tube.
We walked to the tube to the second stop (Covent Gardens). The tube is nothing like NYC. It is much cleaner and I think that it is ultimately easier to understand.

When we got out of the tube the air was so fresh. It was amazing. The feeling coming from the cobble stone ground is unmatched by anything. I knew right then that I love london.

There was a market happening, The Covent Garden Market. It was amazing, but we walked past it because we were on a mission to get to Buckingham Palace and then to a market later in the day.

We walked to a square that was playing Russian music. It was really interesting and there were statues everywhere.

We walked to Mall Street down to Buckingham Palace. There were hundreds of tourists everywhere. Walking down to the Place we passed the beautiful St. James Park. The palace was huge with guards stating outside of it. People peered with hands around the gates. I don't know what they were hoping to see because it looked awful quiet behind that gates. So we made our way to Big Ben.

Big Ben was huge but protected by buildings with gates. We saw the church Prince William and Katie place to ge married in and then we worked our way across the bridge to the London Eye.

The London Eye is now crossed of my bucket list. It was amazing. The view was unbelievable. They searched our bags and then I think they sent us on the fast track because I know that we definitely skipped the line.
There was also this free 4D experience thing we went to.. but it was not as exciting as the real thing.

We were then off to Liverpool Street to the Petticoat market.
The market was amazing. Everything seemed inexpensive until you converted it into dollars $. But I fell in love. I wish I could go back every Sunday.
We were starving and found our way into an Indian Restaurant. Oh my goodness YUMMM!

We then ventured over to another market. It was filled with from from all over and it smelled delicious. I brought a few things and fell in love with many. I probably spent too much money, so I for sure spent too much money.

After the market we were headed to the next hostel.
We took the tube to Queensway Street and then we walked to Queensborough Terrace where Astor Quest Hostel was located. The hostel was very nice and there was a shower int he room. It was probably one of the hottest showers I have had in 2 months.
We shared a room with two Italian boys. One of them was a biology major again to England to try and find a job. They did not
speak English too well but none-the-less they were very nice.

After we got situated in the room, we went to get waffles.

They were so sweet. They brought me one for my Birthday which was the next day. It was soo nice of them. Cinnamon waffle it was, and oh! it was delish!!!!

Off to bed it was for an early departure for myself in the morning.

London Ladies I

Part I:

I fell in Love with London...
I left part of my heart there and will go back one day and pick it up.

The place was amazing.
Grace and her sister and myself left early Saturday morning to catch our flight. I think we were all exhausted. When we arrived at Stanford Airport, I picked up a map and we took a bus to the center of the city. We got off at Liverpool Street and got a small meal at Pert, which seems to be a chin throughout London.

This soup was amazing. I think we all were thankful for it at that moment.
We then were in search for "The Generator" hostel.

When we got there we slept a small bit. I think we all agreed that exhaustion was killing us. Our plan was to sleep an hour but i think we slept 3 or 4.

One of the receptionists tried to help me with directions. He was awful nice and showed me what section would be great to go to at night, just for the atmosphere. We ate a quick bite and then we were off.
We went to Comdon Street. It was off our map but we just wondered and looked at everything and got used to the atmosphere. I was scarred things were going to close early. Everything in Ireland seems to close early. Probably around 5 or 6 and then the pubs open and if you have not ate since then, then you are kind of out of luck.
Not in London. Things were open until 8 or 9 at night. I was in heaven.

We picked up some magazines. We were all in awe that some came with goodies inside them. Lotion, mascara, face wash.. etc.
It drizzled a little bit, but not anything we weren't used to. We made it an early night.
We got in about 9:30pm and we went to read our magazines. We shared a room that night with an Italian boy. He was very nice, a biology major coming to England to find a job. He was going to be there for 3 weeks.
The next morning when we woke up he had a free breakfast with us and then continued on with his life. I hope the best for him, he seems to have a lot to give to that place.
